A Vertically Integrated Business Model Spanning Manufacturing, Sales, and Operation
PowerX operates a vertically integrated business model encompassing the manufacturing, sales, and operation of battery energy storage systems. To support the transition to a decarbonized society, we provide solutions utilizing battery products manufactured at our production facility, Power Base, located in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture, as well as at partner factories.
Our business is structured around three core segments: the BESS business, the EV Charging Station (EVCS) business, and the power business.
BESS Business
Our core BESS business focuses on the sales and maintenance of large-scale stationary battery systems, PowerX Mega Power, and mid-scale stationary battery systems, PowerX Cube. We have established an integrated structure in which we handle software development and provision required for battery operation and management, as well as post-sales maintenance and support.
PowerX Mega Power, with a capacity of 2.7 MWh, is suitable for both grid-scale applications and industrial and commercial use. For grid applications, we also provide deployment support based on advance site assessments. By developing our systems in-house from the module level through to the cloud, we are able to offer reliable lifetime support even in emergency situations※.
PowerX Cube is a mid-scale battery system designed for industrial and commercial applications. Its compact footprint allows flexible installation across a wide range of use cases. In industrial and commercial settings, combining battery storage with on-site solar power systems at factories, warehouses, and buildings enables surplus electricity—previously curtailed or unused—to be stored and effectively utilized as nighttime power, delivering multiple efficiency benefits.

EVCS Business
Through our EVCS business, we offer products and services designed to address key challenges facing EV adoption in Japan—the shortage of charging infrastructure, particularly ultrafast public charging stations capable of short charging times (100 kW or higher).
Our proprietary ultrafast EV charger, PowerX Hypercharger, delivers a maximum output of up to 240 kW, enabling rapid charging within a short period of time. It is an all-in-one charging solution that can operate under a standard low-voltage (200V) commercial power contract, making deployment easier at a wide range of locations. Equipped with an integrated battery system, it also enables EV charging powered entirely by renewable energy. In addition to product sales, we also operate our own EV charging service for EV users, PowerX Charge Station, utilizing the PowerX Hypercharger.
Power Business
Through our power business, we provide electricity supply services utilizing battery energy storage, including X-PPA, as well as battery plant development and operation services.
X-PPA is a new form of off-site power purchase agreement that leverages battery energy storage systems. Acting as the electricity supplier, the Group procures renewable energy from power generators and stores it in our battery systems. By supplying this stored renewable energy to office buildings, commercial facilities, and other customers during nighttime hours, we help improve the effective utilization of renewable energy.
In our battery plant development and operation services, PowerX acts as the developer, planning and developing new facilities. We sell our battery products to the asset owners of these facilities and also provide operational services after the start of commercial operation.
