Etsuo graduated from the University of Tokyo’s Faculty of Economics and completed graduate studies at Princeton University Woodrow Wilson School. He joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (now METI) in 1987, focusing on energy policy. In 2012, he became Director of the Policy Division at the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, followed by his role as Director-General at the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency in 2014. In 2014, he joined a leading new power company as Head of Retail Electricity, growing the business to over 50 billion yen. Yusuke became independent in 2023, providing management support in the energy sector. He also serves as a representative director of the Renewable Energy Promotion New Power Association and as an academic specialist at the University of Tokyo.
