PowerX Delivers BESS to Toyotsu Logistics Service's Logistics Center
~ Aiming for Waste-Free Self-Consumption through Inter-Site Power Sharing Using Solar Power and Private Power Lines ~
2026.10.27

PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito; Securities Code: 485A), in collaboration with Toyotsu Energy Corporation (Head Office: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; President: Koji Yoshikawa), has delivered one unit of its "Mega Power 2700A" large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) to Miyoshi Logistics Center III (Miyoshi City, Aichi Prefecture), a logistics facility of Toyotsu Logistics Service Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; President: Hitoshi Nagino).
Under this project, electricity generated by the solar power system (output: 858 kW) installed on the center's roof will not only be consumed on-site, but also be shared via private power lines with two adjacent Toyotsu Logistics Service sites and a facility of Toyotsu Newpack Co., Ltd. Surplus electricity will be stored in the BESS and discharged during periods of low generation, so that renewable energy is used without waste across the entire area rather than site by site. Generation, demand, and storage will be centrally managed and optimally controlled by an energy management system (EMS).
In a typical configuration where solar power is consumed only at the facility where it is installed, more than half of the generated electricity was expected to go unused as surplus. By combining inter-site power sharing with the BESS, the project plans to self-consume approximately 97% of the electricity generated. As a result, it is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 472 tons per year and to curb maximum demand by around 30% through peak shaving.* Any shortfall in electricity is procured through a renewable electricity supply scheme provided by Toyotsu Energy, making the center's electricity use effectively 100% renewable.
In addition, in the event of a disaster, if the center is cut off from the power grid due to a power outage, the solar power system and the BESS will supply electricity to an evacuation area set up within the center, allowing the facility to serve as a hub for local disaster preparedness.
This project has been selected for the Ministry of the Environment's FY 2024 supplementary budget program, "Project to Accelerate the Introduction of Renewable Energy and Regional Coexistence by Private Companies, etc. (Project to Create Inter-Building Power Sharing Models Using New Methods)."
PowerX will continue to contribute to the effective use of renewable energy by electricity consumers such as factories and logistics facilities, as well as to strengthening regional resilience, by supplying BESS developed and manufactured in Japan.
