PowerX EV Charging Stations Now Support High-Voltage Charging

TOKYO, JAPAN --- PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito; Securities Code: 485A) has upgraded its existing EV charging station in Ariake, Tokyo to support high-voltage charging, starting today. The upgrade raises the station's maximum output to 240 kW. PowerX plans to extend the upgrade to approximately 20 locations by the end of 2026, followed by its stations nationwide.

The upgrade involves partial modifications to the cables, charging connectors, and software of the existing "Hypercharger," PowerX's battery-integrated ultra-fast EV charging system. Once upgraded, the system supports a maximum voltage of 1,000 V and delivers up to 240 kW when a single connector is in use.* The system is equipped with a large-capacity 358 kWh battery and delivers high-output charging on a low-voltage grid connection. This capability remains unchanged following the upgrade. Drivers of conventional 400 V vehicles can continue to use the stations as before.
