PowerX Receives BESS Order for Machiokoshi Energy’s Extra-High Voltage Battery Farm in Hokkaido

2026.05.29

TOKYO, JAPAN --- PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito; Securities Code: 485A) has received an order for 102 units of its “Mega Power 2500” grid-scale battery energy storage system (BESS), totaling 255.7 MWh in capacity. The systems are for a new extra-high voltage battery farm being developed in Hokkaido by an affiliated company of Machiokoshi Energy Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kakogawa City, Hyogo Prefecture; President: Shoji Numata).

The new battery farm will connect to the power grid in the Hokkaido area and help stabilize the power supply-demand balance through charging and discharging. The facility is expected to support the further expansion of renewable energy in Hokkaido, a region with high potential for renewable energy deployment.

This project has been selected to receive a subsidy from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) under the “FY 2025 Subsidy Program for Supporting the Introduction of Energy Storage Systems to Promote the Adoption of Renewable Energy.”

PowerX will continue to contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality in Japan by supplying domestically developed and manufactured battery storage systems.
