PowerX Obtains "JC-STAR" IoT Security Certification for Grid-Scale Battery Energy Storage Systems
2025.10.06
TOKYO, JAPAN — PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito) announced that two products in its "Mega Power" series have received the "JC-STAR*" conformance label (Level 1) for grid-scale battery energy storage systems. The certification is an IoT product security conformity assessment system established by the Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan (IPA).
The certified products are utilized in applications such as "grid-scale battery farms," which connect to the power grid to trade electricity. As they contribute to stabilizing the power supply, these systems are also important from a national security perspective and therefore require a high level of security and reliability.
JC-STAR is a Japanese system, supervised by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), that evaluates and visualizes conformity to security requirements through third-party assessment. This certification recognizes that the implementation status of security measures in PowerX's design, development, and operational processes is in compliance with the required standards.
