PowerX's BESS Selected for Over 100 Projects in Japan

2025.09.29

TOKYO, JAPAN — PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito) announced that its stationary battery energy storage systems (BESS) have been selected for 100 project sites* across Japan. The cumulative capacity of these projects totals approximately 1,411 MWh** (as of September 29, 2025), with recent adoption expanding into large-scale projects, including extra-high voltage battery farms.

The company offers two BESS product lines: the "Mega Power 2700A," a 20-foot container-sized system, and the "PowerX Cube," a medium-sized industrial system. Since the delivery of the first mass-produced unit in December 2023, the products have been adopted for a wide range of applications, including grid-scale battery farms, co-location at solar power plants, and behind-the-meter use cases at facilities like warehouses and factories.

PowerX remains committed to enhancing its domestic development and manufacturing capabilities to provide products and services tailored to the unique installation environments and needs of its customers in Japan. Through the widespread adoption of its BESS, PowerX will continue to support greater integration of renewable energy and contribute to achieving Japan's carbon neutrality goals.

* The number of sites includes both installed projects and those under contract for future installation.
** This is equivalent to the daily electricity consumption of approximately 131,000 average households.
