PowerX Delivers Battery Energy Storage Systems to Daiwa House Industry’s Grid-Scale Battery Storage Project

2026.10.02

TOKYO, JAPAN --- PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito; Securities Code: 485A) has delivered four units of its “Mega Power 2700A” battery energy storage systems (BESS), totaling 9.8 MWh in rated capacity, to a new grid-scale battery storage project developed by Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita Ward, Osaka City; President and COO: Hirotsugu Otomo) in Kurate Town, Fukuoka Prefecture. The project commenced operation on September 16, 2026.

The newly operational “DREAM Storage Battery Fukuoka Kurate Grid-Scale BESS” is the first high-voltage battery storage project opened by Daiwa House Industry since entering the battery storage business. Located on the premises of the company’s Kyushu Factory, the project is connected to the regional power grid, where the expansion of solar power means that electricity generated during the day can at times exceed demand. The project charges during these hours and discharges in the evening and later, when demand rises, making full use of renewable energy and helping stabilize the balance between power supply and demand.

PowerX’s role extends beyond manufacturing and delivering the BESS. Following commencement of operation, PowerX also operates the project as the resource aggregator through its own electricity business.

This project has been selected to receive a subsidy from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE) under the “FY 2024 Subsidy Program for Supporting the Introduction of Energy Storage Systems to Promote the Adoption of Renewable Energy.”

As a leader in BESS manufacturing in Japan, PowerX will continue to contribute to the further expansion of renewable energy through both the supply of its products and the operation of battery storage projects.
