PowerX Receives Additional BESS Order from Sanei Sangyo

2026.06.19

TOKYO, JAPAN --- PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito; Securities Code: 485A) has received an order from Sanei Sangyo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kan-onji City, Kagawa Prefecture; Representative Director: Eiji Nita) for a total of 12 units of its "Mega Power 2700A" grid-scale battery energy storage system (BESS), totaling 32.9 MWh in capacity, for four battery farms being developed in the Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu regions of western Japan.

The battery energy storage systems ordered will be installed at four sites — Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture; and Arao City, Kumamoto Prefecture — and, following various tests, are scheduled to commence operation in stages from summer 2026. This marks the first time PowerX's battery energy storage systems have been adopted for a project located in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture, where the company's manufacturing base is situated.

PowerX has previously received orders from Sanei Sangyo for projects in the Tokyo and Kyushu areas, and with this latest order the number of adopted sites has expanded to eight. The two companies continue to deepen their collaboration toward the start of operations. At the "Ueki-machi Battery Farm" (Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture) — the first project for Sanei Sangyo — PowerX has already completed delivery of its battery energy storage system, and full-scale operation in the balancing market is scheduled to begin shortly.

Through the provision of battery energy storage systems developed and manufactured in Japan, PowerX will continue to contribute to the stabilization of the power grid during this phase of expanding renewable energy.
