PowerX Receives First Order from Ray8 Energy for Battery Energy Storage System

2026.06.04

PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito; Securities Code: 485A) has received its first order from Ray8 Energy Inc. (Head Office: Minato City, Tokyo; Representative Director: Tomohide Den) for grid-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). Ray8 Energy develops grid-scale battery storage projects in Japan under ICG, a global alternative asset manager.

The system ordered will be installed at the “Karumai Battery Farm,” which Ray8 Energy is developing in Karumai Town, Iwate Prefecture, with operation scheduled to commence in XX 2026. Connected to the Tohoku regional grid, the battery farm will store surplus electricity and release it during shortages, helping to balance supply and demand. This will contribute to the further expansion of renewable energy adoption.

With capital support from ICG, Ray8 Energy aims to develop and own more than 1,000 MW of grid-scale battery farms over the next five years, accelerating Japan’s energy transition.

PowerX will continue to contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality in Japan through the provision of battery energy storage systems developed and manufactured domestically.
