PowerX Delivers Battery Energy Storage System to NTT Anode Energy’s Hokkaido Hakodate Battery Farm

2026.03.03

TOKYO, JAPAN --- PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito; Securities Code: 485A) announced that it has delivered three units of its “Mega Power 2700A” grid-scale battery energy storage system (BESS), with a total capacity of 8,226 kWh, to NTT Anode Energy Corporation (Head Office: Minato City, Tokyo; President and CEO: Teruyuki Kishimoto). The systems have been installed at a new battery farm in Hakodate City, Hokkaido.

The “Hokkaido Hakodate Battery Farm,” equipped with PowerX’s BESS, connects to the local power grid, charging during periods of excess electricity and discharging during periods of high demand to help stabilize the supply-demand balance. This is expected to support the further expansion of renewable energy adoption in the region.

PowerX’s BESS has been selected for a total of eight NTT Anode Energy battery farm projects nationwide. The Hokkaido Hakodate Battery Farm is the second to be completed, following the “Fukuoka Wakamatsu Battery Farm” (Wakamatsu Ward, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture), which was completed in April 2025. This also marks the first delivery of the system in Hokkaido.

PowerX, a leader in domestic manufacturing of BESS, and NTT Anode Energy, one of Japan’s largest battery farm operators, will continue to collaborate on battery farm development to contribute to achieving Japan’s carbon neutrality goals.
