PowerX Delivers Grid-Scale Battery Energy Storage System to Kuriharant

2025.12.18

TOKYO, JAPAN — PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito) announced that it has delivered three units of its "Mega Power 2700A" battery energy storage system (BESS), with a total capacity of 8,226 kWh, to Kurihalant Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka City; President and CEO: Kazuhisa Shikaya). The systems have been installed at a new grid-scale battery farm on the grounds of Daigo Town Hall in Ibaraki Prefecture.

The "Daigo Battery Farm," equipped with PowerX's BESS, connects to the power grid in the Tokyo area, charging during periods of excess electricity and discharging during peak demand to help stabilize the supply-demand balance. The facility also features BCP (Business Continuity Planning) functionality, enabling power supply during outages. In the event of a disaster, it will serve as an emergency power source for the "Daigo Town Training Center," a designated evacuation shelter.

Kurihalant, a comprehensive engineering company with extensive experience in power infrastructure, and PowerX, a domestic manufacturer of BESS, will continue their collaboration on a second project, the "Awaji Island Battery Farm." Together, the two companies aim to contribute to Japan's carbon neutrality goals through these battery storage facilities.
