PowerX, NTT Anode Energy, and Seibu Electric Industry Announce Completion of Fukuoka Wakamatsu Grid Battery Storage Project

PowerX, Inc., NTT Anode Energy Corporation and Seibu Electric Industry Co., Ltd. jointly announced the completion of the Fukuoka Wakamatsu Battery Storage Station on April 3, 2025. This facility is a high-voltage grid battery storage station located in Wakamatsu Ward, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
NTT Anode Energy will serve as the aggregator for the Fukuoka Wakamatsu Battery Storage Station, handling optimal transactions across various electricity markets, charge and discharge control, and integrated maintenance monitoring of the facility.
This high-voltage grid battery storage station incorporates three “Mega Power” units, manufactured by PowerX at its factory in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture, with a total PCS output of 1,999 kW.Seibu Electric Industry oversaw the design and construction of the facility.
This marks the first time Seibu Electric Industry has designed and constructed a grid battery storage system, as well as PowerX’s first delivery of such a system to NTT Anode Energy. Going forward, the three companies will continue to contribute to the further expansion of renewable energy and the realization of a sustainable society through the construction and operation of grid-scale battery storage facilities.
