「道の駅しょうなん」にEVチャージステーションをオープン

PowerX Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Masahiro Ito) opened an ultrafast EV charging station on July 5 at Michi-no-Eki Shonan in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture. This station, which supports some of Japan’s fastest* ultrafast charging speeds, is the first site established under an agreement signed in April 2024 between PowerX and the National Association of Michi-no-Eki. The agreement aims to conduct pilot tests of EV charging infrastructure at Michi-no-Eki locations across Japan.

Michi-no-Eki Shonan, located on the shores of Lake Teganuma, is surrounded by rich natural beauty. EV owners can enjoy shopping for fresh local produce and specialty items at the Chisan Chisho Marche or dining at a restaurant offering dishes made with locally sourced ingredients while their vehicles charge.

Following this initial installation, PowerX plans to accelerate the rollout of ultra-fast EV chargers at Michi-no-Eki locations, aiming to establish charging infrastructure at a total of 27 sites nationwide over the next two years. These installations will assess the demand and convenience of ultra-fast charging services, contributing to the further expansion of EV route charging infrastructure.

To commemorate the launch of this station, a joint opening ceremony was held at Michi-no-Eki Shonan on July 5, attended by representatives from Kashiwa City, the National Association of Michi-no-Eki, and PowerX.
