PowerX and Kansai Electric Power Begin EV Charging Service with Hypercharger Pro in Wakasa Town, Fukui Prefecture
Joint Release: The Kansai Electric Power Company, Incorporated / PowerX, Inc. / PLANT Co., Ltd.
2026.10.14
PowerX, Inc. (hereinafter “PowerX”) and The Kansai Electric Power Company, Incorporated (hereinafter “Kansai Electric Power”) have begun providing an EV charging service at “PLANT-2 Kaminaka,” a large-scale general merchandise store operated by PLANT Co., Ltd.
This initiative is part of the joint research*1 launched by Kansai Electric Power and PowerX in July 2025.
Specifically, “Hypercharger Pro,” a battery-integrated ultra-fast EV charging system developed and manufactured by PowerX, has been installed in the parking lot of PLANT-2 Kaminaka, where it provides an EV charging service with a maximum output of 150 kW.
Alongside the charging service, the two companies will also verify energy management applications, such as peak cutting of the host facility’s electricity demand through discharge from the battery to the facility, and the feasibility of participating in the capacity market*2 using the battery’s balancing capabilities.
Building on these insights, PowerX and Kansai Electric Power will advance EV charging infrastructure, deepen their know-how on using battery-integrated ultra-fast EV charging systems as balancing resources, and create new added value, contributing to the realization of a zero-carbon society.
