PowerX to Provide Turnkey Grid Battery Farm Solution to INPEX

TOKYO, JAPAN — PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito) announced that it has received an order from INPEX Corporation (Head Office: Minato City, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takayuki Ueda) for a high-voltage grid battery farm through an integrated turnkey solution that includes the project site, a complete equipment package featuring PowerX's battery energy storage systems, and grid connection procedures.

The "INPEX Tochigi Tsuga Battery Farm (tentative name)" marks the company’s first grid-scale battery storage project and is scheduled to commence operation in December 2026. By connecting to the power grid in the Tokyo area, it will provide grid balancing services through charging and discharging operations, contributing to power supply-demand stabilization.

In addition to supplying its proprietary "Mega Power 2700A" battery energy storage system, PowerX will provide comprehensive services including land acquisition, project management, and grid connection procedures. This marks PowerX's first order under its "integrated turnkey battery farm solution."

PowerX and INPEX will continue to jointly develop grid battery farms, contributing to the expansion of renewable energy adoption and the realization of carbon neutrality in Japan.

PowerX's Scope of Supply

  • Complete turnkey battery farm (project site, PowerX battery systems, PCS, transformers, power receiving and transformation equipment, etc.)

  • Grid connection procedure management and permit acquisition

  • Post-commissioning maintenance services

  • Nominal Capacity: 5.4 MWh (equivalent to the daily electricity consumption of approximately 500 average Japanese households)
