PowerX's Battery Energy Storage System Selected for "Eurus Hokkaido Ikeda Town Battery Park"
2025.09.05
TOKYO, JAPAN — PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito) announced that ten units of its “Mega Power 2700A” battery energy storage system (BESS), totaling 27.42 MWh in capacity, have been selected for the "Eurus Hokkaido Ikeda Town Battery Park," a new facility being developed in Ikeda Town, Hokkaido by Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda City, Tokyo; President and CEO: Tetsuya Suwabe).
This extra-high voltage Grid-Scale Battery Farm is scheduled to commence operation in October 2027. By connecting to the power grid in the Hokkaido area for charging and discharging, it will contribute to stabilizing the supply-demand balance. Furthermore, this will be the first project to integrate our BESS with Eurus Energy's VPP platform, "ReEra".
The project has also been selected to receive a subsidy from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE) under a program designed to expand the adoption of renewable energy.
PowerX will continue to contribute to achieving carbon neutrality in Japan by providing BESS solutions developed and manufactured in Japan.
