PowerX Receives Order for Battery Energy Storage System from Daiwa House Industry
2025.08.18

TOKYO, JAPAN — PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito) announced that it has received an order from Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka City; President and COO: Hirotsugu Otomo) for four units of its “Mega Power 2700A” grid-scale battery energy storage system (BESS), totaling 9.8 MWh in rated capacity. The system will be installed at the Daiwa House Industry Kyushu Factory in Kurate Town, Fukuoka Prefecture, and is scheduled to commence operation around July 2026.
The newly established "DREAM Storage Battery Fukuoka Kurate Grid-Scale BESS" will be the first high-voltage battery storage facility developed by Daiwa House Industry as it enters the battery storage business. By connecting to the power grid in the Kyushu area, the facility will charge and discharge to stabilize the power supply-demand balance, contributing to the further expansion and adoption of renewable energy in Kyushu area.
The project has also been selected to receive a subsidy from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE) under a program designed to expand the adoption of renewable energy.
PowerX will continue to contribute to Japan's carbon neutrality by providing BESS solutions developed and manufactured domestically.
