Ocean Power Grid | Announcement of New President and CEO Appointment

Ocean Power Grid, Inc. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo), a subsidiary of PowerX, Inc. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & CEO: Masahiro Ito), is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Hideyuki Ohnishi as its new President and CEO. With extensive expertise and experience in Japan’s wind power generation sector, Mr. Ohnishi’s leadership will accelerate the advancement of Ocean Power Grid’s maritime power transmission business utilizing Battery Tankers.

Concurrently, Masahiro Ito has assumed the new role of Chairman of the Board.

About the New President and CEO　

Hideyuki Ohnishi
Mr. Ohnishi graduated with a master’s degree from the Solar Energy Chemistry Research Center at Osaka University in 1988. He held key positions in global marketing and business management at a multinational chemical company. In 2010, he became Japan President of GE Energy, where he contributed to emergency power initiatives following the 2011 earthquake. From 2016, he led the launch of onshore wind power projects in Japan, expanding into offshore wind power in 2021. He is set to assume the position of President of Ocean Power Grid in January 2025.
