PowerX Rolls Out Battery-Powered Ultrafast EV Charger at BMW/MINI Dealerships in Japan

PowerX Inc. (Headquarters: Minato City, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masahiro Ito) has installed the first ultrafast battery-powered EV charger at a BMW/MINI dealership in Japan, operated by Motoren Kobe Co., Ltd., a certified dealer of BMW Japan Corp. (Headquarters: Minato City, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Masatoshi Hasegawa). The installation at “Kobe BMW Harbor Kobe Branch” / “MINI Harbor Kobe” (Kobe City, Hyogo Pref.) marks the beginning of a rollout that will see similar chargers installed at some dozens of BMW/MINI dealerships nationwide. This initiative aims to provide more convenient charging options for a larger number of EV owners.

The ultrafast charger installed at this dealership can be reserved and used through the PowerX app, similar to other charging stations managed by PowerX. The pricing structure is based on the amount of electricity charged, implementing a pay-as-you-go system that ensures fairness. Furthermore, the charger is available to all electric vehicle owners, not just those with BMW and MINI vehicles

Earlier this year, PowerX installed an ultrafast charger at Azabudai Hills in Tokyo as part of the BMW Destination Charging project. Building on this success, we are dedicated to improving the convenience and reliability of charging infrastructure for EV owners by expanding these installations to BMW and MINI dealerships.
