PowerX's BESS Selected for Kansai Electric Power's On-Site Battery Service

TOKYO, JAPAN — PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito; "PowerX") announced that its battery energy storage systems (BESS) have been selected for the "On-Site Battery Installation Service" offered by The Kansai Electric Power Company, Incorporated (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka City; Director, Representative Executive Officer, President: Nozomu Mori; "Kansai Electric Power") to corporate customers.
This service is designed for corporate clients with high-voltage or extra-high voltage electricity contracts. Kansai Electric Power installs battery storage systems on customer premises, enabling deployment and operation with no upfront investment. The two products selected are the mid-sized "PowerX Cube 360" BESS and the container-type "Mega Power 2700A" BESS. Both products are developed and manufactured in Japan by PowerX and serve a wide range of needs, from small and medium-sized businesses to large facilities such as factories and logistics warehouses.
The BESS will be integrated with "SenaSon," an AI-powered cloud-based control system developed by Kansai Electric Power, to optimize operations based on electricity demand and solar power generation forecasts. Electricity cost reductions are expected through peak shaving and demand response (DR).
As the first deployment of PowerX's systems through this service, Kyoei Food Co., Ltd (Head Office: Chuo City, Tokyo; President: Tsutomu Osada) will install three units of the "PowerX Cube 360" (total capacity: 969 kWh) at its East Japan Factory currently under construction in Tamamura Town, Sawa District, Gunma Prefecture, with operations scheduled to commence in spring 2026. At the new factory, SenaSon will provide optimal control of both the solar power generation system (rated output: 1.3 MW) and the BESS being installed together, contributing to peak power reduction, electricity cost stabilization, and expanded utilization of renewable energy.
PowerX will continue to promote the expansion of BESS deployment through collaboration with partners, contributing to electricity cost reductions for corporate customers and reducing the environmental impact of their business activities.
