PowerX's BESS Selected for Three Battery Farms by au Renewable Energy

2025.11.19

TOKYO, JAPAN — PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito) announced that its "Mega Power 2700A" battery energy storage systems (BESS) have been selected for three battery farms being developed by au Renewable Energy, Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda City, Tokyo; President and CEO: Goro Suzuki) in the Chubu area. A total of nine units will be deployed, delivering a combined storage capacity of 24.6 MWh.

The systems will be installed across three locations—in Gero City, Gifu Prefecture; Seto City, Aichi Prefecture; and Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture—with operations scheduled to commence sequentially from 2026. Each site will be connected to the Chubu area power grid, charging during periods of excess electricity and discharging during periods of high demand to help stabilize the power supply-demand balance.

PowerX will continue to contribute to Japan's carbon neutrality goals by providing battery energy storage systems developed and manufactured domestically.
