PowerX Launches Fixed-Rate Electricity Service for Corporate Customers
2025.09.03
TOKYO, JAPAN — PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito) announced that it will begin accepting applications for the "Flat Plan," a fixed-rate electricity service for corporate customers designed to mitigate electricity price volatility, starting September 3, 2025.
The Flat Plan is designed for high-voltage and extra-high-voltage corporate customers, offering a fixed electricity unit price (per-kWh rate) throughout the one-year contract period, with no fuel cost adjustments or market-linked surcharges. This enables customers to manage their annual electricity costs with stability, regardless of fluctuations in resource prices or market conditions.
Key Features of the Flat Plan
Fully Fixed Per-kWh Rate
The pricing structure eliminates fuel cost adjustments and market-linked components, ensuring immunity from price fluctuations. This enhances the predictability of electricity costs throughout the year.Selectable "Environmental Value" Options
Customers can choose menu options that achieve net-zero CO₂ emissions or a 50% reduction, depending on their environmental goals. This allows businesses to effectively switch their operational electricity to renewable energy sources.
In addition to the fully fixed Flat Plan, PowerX will also launch the "Semi-Flat Plan," which offers contracts of up to three years. While the base portion of the per-kWh rate remains fixed, this plan partially reflects the difference between actual market prices and a reference price through a coefficient, allowing customers to capture some cost reduction benefits during market downturns while maintaining price stability.

PowerX is a manufacturer that develops and produces large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Japan. The company operates an electricity business aimed at expanding renewable energy adoption through battery storage deployment. PowerX registered as a retail electricity provider in 2023 and began supplying electricity to corporate customers in July 2024. Through its offsite PPA service "X-PPA," the company has been supplying electricity to office buildings and commercial facilities nationwide.
The two new plans leverage the flexibility of PowerX's grid-connected BESS combined with proprietary power procurement expertise to achieve practical pricing structures that mitigate the impact of price volatility.
