PowerX,Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku Tokyo, President: Masahiro Ito; hereinafter “PowerX”) and MES TOKKI & Engineering Co., Ltd (Headquarters: Tamano City, Okayama, President: Toshimasa Hayashi; hereinafter “MTE”), a group company of MITSUI E&S Corporation (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President: Takeyuki Takahashi), have started assembling battery units at MITSUI E&S Tamano Works.

PowerX Okayama Battery Factory and MITSUI E&S Tamano Works are located in the same city, Tamano, Okayama prefecture.
PowerX will have a subcontracted factory for the production of Mega Power (a 20 ft container-type battery unit) near its own factory, and MTE will assemble the battery unit, drawing on its many years of experience in the shipbuilding industry.

PowerX and MITSUI E&S will continue to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society and the revitalization of local industries.

With a capacity up to 2,700 kWh in a standard container size, this battery for grid-scale energy storage can reduce utility bills through peak shaving, be an emergency power supply and accelerate the transition to renewable energy.
